 Asteroid Incoming!

Hello Readers! Welcome back to AstroVerse!
Apologies for the exorbitant gap between the previous post and this post.
The news is blaring up of the impact of a large asteroid recently.

Entry of C0WEPC5 into the atmosphere.
Cited from The Economic Times

C0WEPC5 is one of the NEOs - Near Earth Objects - with a diameter of about seventy centimetres as estimated by observatories. These objects orbit close to the Earth and Moon, but most lie near the Earth, at the level of Geo-Stationary Satellites.

The asteroid exploded over sparely populated Siberia. People have observed its descent near Yakutia, Russia.
Such air-burst meteors (Refer to post Meteors) generally cause noticeable damage over a city. This includes the 2013 Explosion of an Air-Burst Meteor over Chelyabinsk, Russia, whose impact shattered windows and glass panes in the city.

This asteroid was discovered on a collision course with Earth mere hours before its descent into the atmosphere. It was expected to burn up due to its small size and explode.
This highlights that since the orbital systems of planetary bodies are affected by physical chaos (Butterfly Effect), it is not possible to accurately predict the revolution of such asteroids.
This also tells us that every day there are a bunch of comets or rocky bodies which are discovered. There are also a lot of meteors which we haven't detected yet.

This is where I will conclude my post.
